Mason, Ohio; Aug. 10, 2026 — As the Cincinnati Open continues its evolution into one of the world’s premier tennis destinations, SMT is expanding its longtime technology partnership with the tournament this year, adding new LED displays, production capabilities and fan-facing experiences throughout the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
The Cincinnati Open represents one of SMT’s largest and most complex LED and production deployments anywhere in the world, requiring more than 30 consecutive days onsite from the initial installation through the final breakdown.
With 106 LED displays and more than 50 million LED pixels now installed across the tournament grounds, the Cincinnati Open continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible for an in-venue fan experience. This year’s new display enhancements and expanded production capabilities create even more engaging and immersive experiences throughout the venue, while SMT’s scoring network supports the official scoring and data distribution across 10 match courts in conjunction with the ATP and WTA Tours.
NEW FOR 2026
SMT is expanding its technology footprint with several new display and production enhancements designed to keep fans informed, entertained, and more connected to the tournament than ever before. These additions will further elevate the on-site experience by delivering immersive visuals, enhanced live coverage, and engaging content throughout the venue.
- Stadium Outer Concourse Ribbon: A new massive 130-foot-wide curved LED ribbon display will wrap the NE exterior Stadium concourse, creating a new dynamic destination hub for fans as they enter and move throughout the venue. Powered by SMT’s semi-automated production platform, the display will deliver live scores, match updates, tournament information, sponsor messaging, event promotions, and custom announcements in real time, helping fans stay informed and enhancing the on-site experience.
- Kroger Indoor Fan Zone Monster Board + Dedicated Production: A new 27.5′ x 16.5′ high-resolution LED Monster Board, matching the size of the popular Pavilion Monster Board, will serve as the centerpiece of the reimagined Kroger Fan Zone Indoor Courts. Powered by SMT’s proprietary production platform and operated by a dedicated production specialist, the display will deliver a dynamic mix of live match coverage, scoring and statistics, player features, sponsor activations, and tournament messaging. The result is an immersive viewing experience that keeps fans connected to the action, even when they’re away from Stadium Court, while creating an exciting new destination within the tournament grounds.
- Grandstand Player Tunnel Displays: Two custom LED displays will flank the Grandstand player tunnel, creating an exciting and memorable entrance for players as they take the court. Featuring a unique installation design, the displays can swing open to provide safe and efficient access for players, tournament staff, and equipment when needed. Throughout the day, the LED walls will showcase player introductions, sponsor messaging, and dynamic tournament content, transforming the player entrance into an engaging visual experience for fans onsite and watching the broadcast coverage.
- Grandstand Upper Tunnel Gate Display: A new LED display above the Grandstand player entrance tunnel extends the visual treatment used throughout the venue’s stadium gates and vomitories.
- Tennis Channel Studio Display: Located adjacent to the Tennis Channel Studio, a new LED display will give fans a front-row view of the network’s live programming as it is broadcast from the tournament grounds. When the studio is on air, fans can watch live interviews, match analysis, and behind-the-scenes coverage, creating a more immersive and interactive experience. Between live broadcasts, the display will automatically transition to SMT’s Match Update Center, providing continuous live scores, match schedules, tournament updates, and featured content to keep fans informed throughout the day.
“SMT continues to help us find new ways to bring the Cincinnati Open experience to life beyond the court,” said Jansen Dell, Chief Operating Officer of the Cincinnati Open. “The new Stadium outer concourse ribbon and Kroger Fan Zone Board are both great examples, giving us dynamic platforms to share live scoring, tournament information, sponsor content and timely messaging with fans throughout the venue.”
While the new displays create some of the most visible additions for 2026, SMT’s core scoring and data infrastructure remains at the core of the tournament experience.
- Scoring & Data Distribution: SMT will work in conjunction with the ATP and WTA Tours as the official scoring provider across all 10 courts to provide supplemental software and hardware related to any SMT services as well as manage distribution of data to various teams for use on displays, CCTV, and web.
- Serve Speed System: SMT’s proprietary Serve Speed System is deployed across all 10 match courts, capturing and distributing serve-speed data to LED displays and other platforms in real time.
- Serve Clock Graphics: SMT provides graphical content for designated LED serve clocks, ingesting ATP/WTA data feeds and displaying countdown timing across all clock phases in compliance with current Tour regulations.
- Digital Draw Display: SMT’s automated Digital Draw Display service transforms the traditional draw board into a dynamic destination for live updates, match alerts and visual storytelling.
- Outer Court Scoreboards: SMT’s proprietary automated Tennis Scoreboard Display application powers outer-court scoreboard displays through customized, automated playlist phases: Start of Day, Pre-Match, In-Game and Post-Match.
SMT is also delivering a robust in-venue production experience across the tournament’s major courts and fan destinations.
- Show Court Production: SMT production teams execute live content experiences across Center Court, Grandstand, Stadium 3 and Champions Court, blending storytelling, high-energy visuals, real-time statistics, player content and sponsor messaging.
- Pavilion + Indoor Monster Boards: Both 27.5-foot by 16.4-foot displays support up to three simultaneous live video windows, real-time statistics, sponsor content and interfaced tournament data.
- Court Channel: SMT’s fully automated Court Channel provides customizable content across fan destination areas, combining live scores, player bios, sponsor content and match results through pre-loaded content libraries and daily program wheels.
- Venue-Wide CCTV: SMT provides proprietary CCTV software and graphical content, distributing up to 21 unique HD channels through the tournament’s CCTV infrastructure and secure online URLs.
SMT’s systems also extend into the tournament’s behind-the-scenes operations, helping staff manage and present information throughout the event.
- Practice Court Scheduling: SMT’s new web-based scheduling system allows tournament staff to manage player practice court bookings on-site and remotely, with scheduling information integrated into the SMT scoring network for real-time display distribution.
- Live Draw Production: SMT provides a tailored production package for the men’s and women’s 128-player draws, combining player graphics, real-time data integration and interactive content.
