Mixed martial arts promotion The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has named Loren Mack its new vice-president of corporate communications.
Mack last month left Asian MMA promotion One Championship, where he was a senior director of pubic relations for five years before becoming vice-president, PR and communications, in 2017.
The New York native will work out of the PFL’s Las Vegas office and will handle all levels of corporate communications within the PFL with added focus on continuing to develop the PFL brand and leveraging his international relationships to further expand the league’s global reach.
Peter Murray, chief executive officer of PFL said: “Loren Mack brings a wealth of experience and drive to the league; we’re thrilled to have him join the team. He will play a pivotal role in continuing to build the brand in the United States and abroad through impactful storytelling.
Mack said: “With a world-class list of fighters, I look forward to contributing my abilities to an already remarkable group associated with the PFL.
“Having been in this profession for over 15 years, I have never seen a bigger opportunity in MMA than with the PFL. They have re-imagined the way we consume live sports content by establishing an innovative format to crown season-long champions and I am looking forward to continuing to help develop the remarkable stories of the athlete roster.”
The 72 fighters in the PFL compete in a regular season, playoff and championship format across six weight classes. They fight each other twice across the course of the year with the top fighters advancing to the single elimination playoffs.
The PFL Championship takes place on New Year’s Eve in Madison Square Gardens with the finals in each of six weight classes competing for a $10m prize pool.
The competition is available on ESPN2, ESPN+ and ESPN Deportes, along with 160 countries through international distribution partnerships.
In December 2019, the PFL partnered with real-time data delivery and graphics solutions provider SportsMEDIA Technology to create proprietary technology that measures real-time MMA fighter performance analytics along with biometric and positional data to provide a better broadcast experience for fans.
